Community Service
Community involvement is an important part of the culture at InCharge. Employees
volunteer their time and money in order to help support other Central Florida nonprofits.
Below is a partial listing of community service events InCharge is actively involved
in.
A Gift For Teaching
A Gift For Teaching is a Central Florida nonprofit organization whose mission “is
to ensure underprivileged students in the Central Florida community have the basic
tools necessary to succeed in school and life by collecting and distributing the
community's surplus supplies and merchandise and distributing it to students in
need through the Free Store for teachers.” InCharge employees have supported this
mission through various efforts such as the Pencil Case Drive and Pennies for Pencils
resulting in more than $10,000 in donations since 2002.
Junior Achievement of Central Florida
InCharge employees volunteer at Orlando’s Orlo Vista Elementary as part of the annual
JA-In-A-Day program. Employees spend a full day with children in kindergarten through
fifth grades, discussing the basic concepts of business, economics and how education
is relevant in their future working lives. InCharge employees have donated hundreds
of hours of service to date.
In addition, InCharge employees participate in Junior Achievement’s annual Bowl-A-Thon.
Since 2000, we have raised more than $30,000 for Junior Achievement and have been
awarded with the “highest amount raised by a nonprofit” in Central Florida.
Second Food Harvest
Employees collect canned food items to stock the shelves of Second Harvest Food
Bank and also conduct Cook-A-Thons to help raise money for the food bank. InCharge
employees have raised more than $18,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida
In 2007, employees created a “Holiday Star Tree” in order to fulfill the wishes
of over thirty children and their parents throughout Orange, Seminole and Osceola
counties. Gifts ranged from new bicycles for kids to basic household necessities
for parents.
American Red Cross
In 2005, InCharge employees raised $25,200 for Katrina victims through Cook-A-Thons
and personal donations.
Interested in partnering with us on a community service project or having us talk
to your group about financial literacy topics? We welcome the opportunity to further
our mission of improving financial literacy and can share our knowledge with groups
small or large in the areas of credit counseling, bankruptcy, budgeting and debt
solutions, among others. For more information, contact Jacquie Tremblay at
jtremblay@incharge.org or call (407) 532-5577.
